With a heart dedicated to service and a mind focused on connection, I have always made an effort to live a life that bridges professional expertise with personal passion. As a Speech Pathologist, I attempt to empower others to find their voice and break through communication barriers. As an Amazon best selling author, I’ve tried to share stories that inspire and provide encouragement. I am an avid reader and lover of words. My ‘To Be Read’ pile only seems to grow. As a faithful church greeter and tireless volunteer, I have tried to ensure that everyone I meet feels welcomed, valued and loved. My most cherished titles are daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, where I have been blessed to serve as a loving anchor of my family. I continue to be committed to treat every interaction…every encounter – whether in a school, on the page, a volunteer event, home or at the church door- as an opportunity to build a legacy of faith, kindness and deep connection.
Looking back, I always realized I was craving a deeper sense of purpose in my life. I was looking for a way to turn empathy into action. I found my purpose when I was afforded the opportunity to volunteer with a number of organizations and serve at church. The greatest challenge was showing up to volunteer for the first time. After that, everything falled in place. I found a community of like- minded individuals that believed that small acts could make a difference in someone’s life.
I am so proud, grateful and humbled to have received The President’s Volunteer Service Award (Barack Obama-Classy Living Society ), 2018 Spirit Award (Classy Living Society), Teacher of the Year award (1992-93-Atlanta Public Schools), Academic Achievement award ( 1990-Atlanta Public Schools).
To me, being “Dauntless”means showing boldness and being resolute when the odds are stacked against you. If this sounds vaguely familiar to you, it’s because this is usually what we often call life.
Being “Dauntless” has helped me weather the storms, build strong relationships, stay focused and committed and try to be the best version of myself.

Being “Dauntless” is an exercise in growth, resilience, repetition and showing yourself some grace.
If I could change one thing about this world of ours, I’d promote and strongly prioritize a world where all men/ women are valued and treated with dignity and respect. No matter their gender, race, age or orientation. I don’t think it’s too much to envision a society that’s based on diversity, equality and inclusion. These three factors are the foundation of a productive and successful society. We should focus on the challenges and issues that we constantly face with compassion and recognize the worth that we can all bring to the table. This is not our current situation, and this is something I would try my best to change.
Why?
Because a vision for our future should involve transforming our world for the generations to come.
With effort, dedication and unwavering commitment to each other, we can make this vision a reality.

I continue to be a book lover. There’s nothing more powerful than the written word.
I also love my plants ( yes I talk to them and they talk back).
