Bus California – Captain, Jackie Goode
I’m still on a high from the epic five-day California Dreaming—Take Flight trip hosted by Laik Experiences. Every event was so well thought out and planned to perfection. One of my favorite moments was the charter bus rides. I was assigned to the California bus, and OMG, we had a time from departure to arrival. Each day was a different, fun experience. Thank you, Ms. Carolyn, for that church-clapping prayer over the bus.
Shout out to our beautiful bus Captain, DJ Jackie Goode, for the MC skills. Our sister held down the entertainment one day for 5 hours as we traveled through the valleys in Santa Barbra to our winery lunch! We had a licensed Zumba instructor on the bus, so of course, after sitting for a few hours, it was time to get up and get the blood flowing. Thanks to my mom, Ronda “Showtime” Crutchfield, for pumping us up. Then we played an oldie-but-goodie game of a nostalgic moment, dressing up Barbie dolls like they were headed to the Emerald Green Dress Gala! This was hilarious! So, we broke off into teams of 5.
Each team was given a Barbie doll with a few clothes. The object was for the ladies to use what they had on them or in their purses to make their doll a fashion icon. Oh boy, these ladies got creative. I saw one doll with silver boots made out of a gum wrapper. I’m laughing out loud! So, each team captain stood up and introduced their dolls – so fun and creative. We played “I am Mad at My Man” songs, which were so funny. Then, we moved on to our favorite “Caucasian music artist” songs and sang like a choir! Lol, I love the bus rides on these trips. I met many like-minded women on the bus and got to catch up with some old faces.

Bus Dreaming – Captain Gail Jackson
The California Dreaming Bus experience was truly unforgettable. Each day began with a powerful prayer, setting the tone for what was to come. Our days were filled with crunk-tivity activities and moments of relaxation, creating the perfect balance. From receiving our boarding passes and world-traveled passports to making our fashion-forward dolls, every moment was filled with excitement. We indulged in yummy mimosas, singing, and dancing! We also shared some of our life accomplishments while partaking in our healthy snacks! As well we learned about the various places we visited. This California Dreaming bus experience is forever etched in my memory, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. A special thanks to our bus captain, Gail Jackson, for hosting our bus with love and care.
